Born in Greece. I live and work in UK since 2000.

I am an artist, researcher, and lecturer in Art and Design at the School of Design at the University of Leeds. My background is in Fine Art for Design, with a specific focus on Drawing as an expanded practice. Areas of research are the expanding field of drawing, material thinking, experimental sequential narratives, collage culture, contemporary abstraction, copy and systems of reproduction, and, more recently, the concept of Philoxenia.

In my practice, emphasis is placed on the relationships between material and imagination. This connection, I see, brings together intention and intuition, invention and execution in ways that impact one another. Consequently, the work develops from a process where action, investigation, and continuous exploration of materials take shape from one doing to another. Each one responds to the previous one to guide the work to completion.

My research is studio-centered, with a lab attitude focused on process. This involves reacting to materials in the immediate environment by navigating the space between intention and decision, creating a dialogue with the present as it unfolds in the studio. Embracing this informal approach as a vital element of my methods gives me the freedom and permission to work without the constraints of predefined categories or rules.
